Dr. Paul J. Kim,
Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Paul J. Kim is the Medical Director of the Precision Radiation Oncology. He is a Southern California native who graduated with honors from Stanford University, majoring in biological sciences. Dr. Kim obtained his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and returned to California to complete his internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose and radiation oncology residency at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco where he was the Chief Resident. He then completed his fellowship in proton therapy at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School. He had additional training in prostate radiation at the Seattle Prostate Institute and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Upon completing his fellowship, Dr. Kim was appointed Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and served as the Director of Radiation Oncology at the Princess Anne Cancer Center in Virginia Beach.

Dr. Kim is a board certified radiation oncologist. Throughout his career he has been active in cancer research and has published numerous articles in leading journals such as The Lancet, BMJ, and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology – Biology – Physics. In addition to being an accomplished researcher and author, Dr. Kim has presented several scientific papers at the annual meetings of the American Society for Radiation Oncology. His awards and honors include the J.E. Wallace Sterling Award from Stanford University; U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Special Recognition Award and the U.S. Secretary for Health Award for Distinguished Service from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship for Medical Students; and Farr Scholar, Yale University School of Medicine.
